Technologies have upended our relation to time and space, connecting us everywhere and nowhere at once. Legible Journey explores this relation between language, movement and perception. Inspired by Jeffrey Shaw’s Legible City, the installation invites the visitor to pedal a bicycle surrounded by letters; moving forward, they gradually erase the words, questioning our relation to language and to the world.

Sound is at the heart of the work: each pedal stroke triggers recordings made during a real bicycle journey from La Rochelle to Athens, nine months on the road. These fragments, between narrative and abstraction, capture pieces of the landscapes and atmospheres crossed.

Legible Journey is an invitation to rediscover the pleasure of movement and listening: travel becomes a sensory experience where the inner journey merges with that of the body in motion.
