A twelve-minute video art film interweaving a multitude of images — archives, reproductions, animations — with a documentary narrative carried by an actor moving through real settings.
At the bottom of the screen, from the first second to the last, a fragmented text scrolls by: theoretical excerpts, letters between Van Gogh and his brother, original writing composed for the film. This unbroken flow forces the viewer into a constant back-and-forth between reading and image — a tension so demanding that it ends up altering the gaze. Perhaps we then come close to that distorted vision, the very one Van Gogh cast on the world.
